Timothy A. McAfee began his career in public accounting upon graduating from Western Michigan University in 1972. He started with the national public accounting firm Ernst & Ernst, now Ernst & Young. He rose from staff accountant to tax supervisor during his time at E&E and obtained extensive experience in the estate and trust area. His clients included manufacturers, industrial supply, banking, non-profits, hospitals, schools, municipalities and individuals.
Tim left public accounting in 1977 to join a local businessman as Director of Accounting and Tax Manager. In that capacity, he was involved in businesses as diverse as farming, television and radio broadcasting, advertising, restaurant, auto dealership, real estate, and auto racing.
Returning to public accounting in 1981 he has spent the rest of his career working with a group of clients in areas such as manufacturing, bedding plants, retail, restaurants, auto repair, graphic design, construction, medical and legal services, and real estate development. In 1984, Tim earned a Master of Science in Taxation degree from Grand Valley State University and in 1988 obtained the designation as a Certified Financial Planner. Prior to forming McAfee & Associates, P.C. in 2003, Tim was the Tax Partner in a large local CPA firm for 19 years.

Sandra M. McAfee is the Administrative Assistant at McAfee & Associates. Prior to joining McAfee & Associates in 2010, Sandy began her career as a registered nurse, after having received her education from Holy Cross School of Nursing in South Bend, Indiana, as a medical and cardiac surgical nurse at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Thereafter, she began her second career as a stay-at-home Mom raising four children.
